    Taking Stock: November 2019

How’s your 2019 been, babes? I’ve been reflecting on mine and the only thing that comes to mind is WTF most of the time! Nothing about this year has gone how I could have possibly imagined. Some of those things have been good/joyful and some of those things have been painful and utterly confusing – my faith in people has been constantly challenged and then restored and challenged again! Throughout all of this, I have learned a hell of a lot about myself, about life and about the depth of my empathy for others. Growth has been painful but god damn I just keep on getting stronger! I feel like…

    Taking Stock: September 2018

Holy crap, it’s the first day of spring and the sun is actually out. Kind of. Like when I typed that last sentence, a cloud went over. But it’s good. No rain on a weekend day is fine by me! I always feel weird talking about the first day of spring because we all know it doesn’t actually get really good until at least October. It’s nice that everybody is so optimistic, though. Anyway, it’s time for me to ‘take stock’ again. Here’s what’s happening right now… Making: healthier food choices over the last couple of days has really made a difference for me. I’ve lost 900g! I just hope I…

Stuff I want to do when the winter is over.

Now, I am not usually the ‘wish your life away’ type. I believe in finding happiness in the exact place and time you’re in, because if you’re always waiting for the perfect circumstances in which to ‘be happy’, are you ever really happy? When times are shit, we have to dig deep and find the positives or the learning that can come from that circumstance. Yep. I’m that annoyingly positive person a lot of the time. The rest of the time I can be found moaning on…

    Spring.

This post has been inspired by Fat Mum Slim’s September Photo a Day challenge x Today was full of blue sky and sunshine. We’ve had a few ‘fine’ days, but that’s not the same as a sunny day. The kind of day where the sun’s rays feel warm on your skin and burst through your windows, making your whole house bright. I took this photo while I was outside with the Little Mister, giving him time on the swings (he’s obsessed). The air felt different today. It actually felt more like spring than winter (we are lucky enough to get some sunny winter days but there’s usually a little chill…

    Stuff to love this spring.

I don’t know about where you are in the world, but over here I have been thoroughly enjoying amazing bursts of winter sunshine. Gosh, I love that Vitamin D. I actually wake up giddy when I see the sun out. I don’t know if this is all one big tease before the rains come back or if it’s truly the beginning of an early spring, but it is beautiful. It has got me so excited and inspired. I don’t want to see grey and black anymore! Here are some of the things I am excited about for this spring/summer: Neon coloured nails:   Pinterest I used to think that neon…
