    The day she moved out.

Tonight has marked a big milestone. The Little Miss is two months old and as I type this, she is sleeping in her nursery after being in the same room as us (in a port-a-cot in the corner of the room) since we got home from the hospital. She settled like a dream too. It’s like she knows that it’s going to be harder for me than it is for her so she’s gone easy on me the first night haha. It seems a bit sudden (probably more so for me than for her), considering her big brother didn’t move out until he was over 4 months old, but we…

2 weeks post partum: some thoughts.

It’s been two weeks since we met the Little Miss. It’s safe to say we are totally in love. She’s growing bit by bit but I still can’t get over the fact that she is still too small for 0000 (newborn) sized clothes! While I want her to thrive and grow, I must admit her tiny size is bloody adorable. She is so good and staring at her is my new favourite hobby (coming in at a close second to holding her – although she thinks of me as a big milk machine and it makes me a little jealous of her father and his useless chest region because he…

    31 weeks pregnant.

As December got into full swing, I hit 31 weeks pregnant! It finally felt like the countdown to meeting my baby is on. I have been trying to tell myself that I just have to get to Christmas (33 weeks), then new year (34 weeks) and then it’s only a few weeks after that! This week I thoroughly enjoyed not doing any more school runs for the year. I was able to take my time getting ready to leave the house! If the Little Mister was in the right mood (he’s pretty good), I could even lie in after he said good morning to me and then went and GOT…

    21 weeks pregnant.

This week felt like a mixed bag of emotions! That damn rash I’m experiencing got me down a bit. I realised that I should be kind to myself and acknowledge that it can be really draining when your body is constantly fighting itself. I was a bit embarrassed at how tired and big I felt. I mean, come on – I’d only just passed the half way mark and I was carrying on like I was about to pop! I was wishing time would speed up because I was already SO over it. Which is dumb because I have SO MUCH stuff to do before the baby arrives and also,…

Reasons I wanted to know my baby’s sex before birth.

I swear the number 1 question women get asked when we announce that we’re expecting is, “Are you going to find out if it’s a boy or a girl?” I think that if I was to properly poll my parent friends to find out who found out ahead of their birth vs who chose to wait, it would probably be a 50/50 result. It’s a personal decision and I think people choose one way or the other for a big variety of reasons. I can see advantages and disadvantages to both choices. I decided to share my reasons to find out at our 19 week anatomy scan… I wanted to…
