    The Happy List #35

What can I say? Life has been INTENSE lately! Everyone’s adjusting to new routines and there have been some hiccups along the way. Still, I’ll be damned if I don’t find some great things to put on my happy list this week! There’s always something positive to be found – even the smallest, weirdest things. You know, silver linings and all that. Mr Unprepared looking out for me when I’ve been a burnt out mess It’s the little things that make you feel like someone’s got your back. He’s covered me at dinner time when I’ve run out of steam. He understood when I had a little meltdown and have…

    The Happy List #34

Holy crap, it’s been a big week! I’m still trying to find my groove, now that the Little Mister has started kindy, but I am oddly excited about getting organised and starting a new routine. Oh, and time to myself will be great – however fleeting it will feel between work and school drop offs and pick ups! I have had a lot on my mind lately and in some ways, all this school stuff has been a good distraction (as much as it has been nerve wracking)! So here’s the stuff that has made me happy in the last week… Surviving the first week of being a ‘school mum’…

    The Happy List #33

Yo. I skipped a week because we were away camping, but now we’re home again (back to reality) and I’m about to dive into life as a school mum, starting tomorrow! Hold me! I seem to have stopped freaking out about name labels and booklist items, and now I’m worried about lunches and this school lunch box shaming I see so much of all the time on the internet and OMG I don’t know if I have the time/energy to be a crazy health nut Pinterest worthy lunch making mummy!! Breathe, Kez. Breathe! Go to a happy place!! Here are some things that have made me feel happy since the…

    The Happy List #31

It’s been a tough week for a lot of Western Australians. There are a lot of people who have lost a lot over the past few days, with devastating bushfires threatening several small towns in the south west, sadly wiping out the historical town of Yarloop and taking the lives of two elderly community members. I just don’t think I could write this week’s happy list without acknowledging it. While we were always out of the danger zone, it was our neighbouring communities who felt the brunt of the fire front. It was close enough to scare my parents and it affected people and places that we know well. I…

The Happy List #30 (first one for 2016)!

It’s the first Monday of 2016! I have mixed feelings about this. I am kind of glad to launch into the new year for reals (I like routine and a not-so-chaotic house), but it has been nice to be in holiday mode – where you don’t really have to be responsible for all the drives-you-nuts daily administration that comes with running a home and being an adult. I’m waiting for all of that to hit me like a ton of bricks any time now! I hope that 2016 has been kind to you already and if it’s been kind of crap, the good news is that there’s plenty of time…

    The Happy List #29

My Happy List is a day later than usual. Patchy internet and a busy schedule had a lot to do with it! I know I could have taken a break over the festive season, but I really didn’t want to because there’s been so much to be happy about. Here are some of the things that have made me happy… A relaxing Christmas/Boxing Day For the first time in the 13 years Mr Unprepared and I have been together, we managed to finally realise the dream of only attending one location per day. We had our first Christmas on the 25th at my parents’ house and then a second Christmas…

    The Happy List #28

I can hardly believe it’s the last happy list before Christmas. I mean, it’s the 20th of December. We’re in the 20s. That’s when you know shit is getting serious. I’m a little overwhelmed about some last minute decisions, but I am going to try to take it all one bite at a time and remember my Christmas spirit when certain situations test me! I hope that wherever you are, and whoever you are with, that you have a lovely Christmas to look forward to. If you are struggling at this time of year, I am thinking of you. I am so glad I get to write this list, because…

    The Happy List #27

This past week has been a mixed bag. Some things have brought great joy and others…well, they can stay in last week, thank you very much! I am so glad that I write this list every week (and grateful to those who read it), because I really do think that it has helped me to think more positively. And not in an insincere, cheesy way either. I can be really picky about what goes on the list, because I don’t write about what I think I should have been happy about. I write about the things that genuinely made me feel happy. Sometimes those things are colossal, life changing things and sometimes…

    The Happy List #25

As I sit here, I am just glad to have a quiet day ahead! The silly season has been intense and it’s not even December yet! I really love being a social butterfly but I treasure the quiet days too. Is anyone else like this? I don’t think I could ever go full extrovert. Right now is the perfect time to write another happy list! Here’s what’s made me happy in the last week… Meeting a real life Alice in the flesh! I don’t know if you remember but I have mentioned Alice a few times in this blog’s lifetime. We met on Twitter and recently celebrated our 4 year…

Well, hello there lovely person who is reading my blog! Welcome to my weekly Happy List thingy. It’s where I reflect on the stuff that has made me happy over the previous week – taking time to smell the flowers, kind of. So I don’t lose the lovely memories in the blur of adult life and all that. So, here’s the stuff that has brought a little joy… New couch feels. Today we picked up my new gorgeous 3 seater sofa. It’s second hand and it is just gorgeous! I bought it from a gorgeous lady friend. I am so so so happy as I would never have been able…
