15 January – Wednesday I woke at 1:30am and could not get back to sleep. It got really unbearable and by 4am I left the room to lie on the couch. I felt bad because it turned out that I had already disturbed Mr Unprepared. He came out to check on me. Yeah, yeah. It’s a double negative, but you know what I mean. Also, it’s a song lyric by Faithless. Remember that one? As I type this, I am hoping that tonight will be the night I remember how to sleep well. It’s been a while. And I know why. It’s been the perfect storm of everything. Often I’ll fall asleep exhausted and then wake up a couple of short hours later and just never get back to my slumbering. Oh my goodness. The end of the school year has had me beat! The kids aren’t the only people who are exhausted! I have been so tired. I mean, I’m always a bit tired (because duh I’m a parent and also *ahem* a wife to a lovely but annoying man hahaha) but lately I’ve found it harder to keep bouncing back and to just push through!
