A Christmas message from (someone who is not) the Queen.

OK, so I’m not the queen. Unless you’re talking about the queen of procrastination. Because I’m supposed to wrap the Little Mister’s presents from Santa and it’s halfway through Christmas Eve and I haven’t done it and I’m kind of mad because I thought he had elves to do that kind of annoying stuff? What kind of show are you running here, Santa? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? I am also in no way regal or ‘proper’. I don’t think ‘the people’ would really appreciate my swearing, burping or crapness at sending a thank you note (although I do always show my appreciation somehow I just find it difficult to put…

    Thursday thoughts.

Whenever I am feeling a bit “off”, be that anxious, a bit down or really frustrated, I like to find great quotes to fill my mind with and get myself headed in a better direction. I really think that our thoughts are powerful. They determine the energy we put out to other people and they can affect our health. Here are the things that are soothing me today… image  I’ve decided that whenever I am feeling conflicted or I find myself thinking negatively about people or circumstances, I am going to ask myself this question. Is this worrying/resentment etc good for my soul? Maybe not. I must remember to look…

    Some inspiration for decision making.

image image Making change in our lives can be scary and intimidating. It can mean jumping into the unknown (or the relatively unknown). We often have to take some kind of risk in order to reach our goals. Moving to a new town/city, taking a new job, changing your lifestyle, making that big investment. Turning up at those events where we do not know anyone. Sometimes when we know that it’s the ‘right’ thing to do for us, we just have to let go and jump right in. The worst thing we can do is never take any risks at all, because of fear. Sometimes getting out of that rut…

Button…and random thoughts that have nothing to do with buttons.

This post has been inspired by Fat Mum Slim’s Photo a Day challenge x About the photo: When I saw the prompt for ‘button’ come up, I knew exactly what I’d take a photo of. A hot pink button that fell off my favourite cardigan a couple of days ago. I added a couple of my fingernails, just because I love the colour (the home manicure skills – not so much – eesh – those cuticles). Anyway, my pink cardigan is so awesome. It was a bargain from Cotton On and it has helped me to brighten up every dull winter’s outfit ever. People are always commenting on how lovely it…

Words are the new sticks and stones.

Everyone’s heard that saying: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” I’m sure the expression was created with the best of intentions many years ago, with the message that it’s important to be resilient and have a tougher skin when people say mean things (which is fair enough on some levels and that’s for a whole other blog post), but in all reality, words are so important and shouldn’t be given less significance than physical hurts. It is our responsibility to use our words wisely. I know that as the Little Mister grows up, that is one very important thing (of many) that I…

Facebook your face off. I don’t care.

image You know what’s getting really old lately? Well, I have my ranty pants on and I’m about to tell you (lucky you). Articles/blog posts/rants about what people are doing that is soooooo annoying on Facebook. Usually written in list form, the writer goes on about each thing that offends them personally about Facebook users and decides what everyone else should like or not like too. Which I find hilarious when they’re busy telling people off for their self centred status updates. I am not aiming this post at anyone in particular. I’m just noticing a trend. Maybe this blog post in itself is one big stinking pile of…

    Thought orphans.

pic So basically, this post is about all the things that are too long to tweet, and may be too boring to put on Facebook. Wow, I’m really not selling this. So…this post is about all the little things in my brain that aren’t probably long enough to have their own blog posts. Poor little thought orphans. Nowhere to go. Don’t worry, little thought orphans. I’ll give you a home. You can all live together in this one poor excuse for a blog post. It’s not much, but I’m here for you, little buddies. Time to move out of my brain and out into the world. BUT… maybe they’re…
