Hey! How are you? I hope you’re doing OK. Here’s my wrap up of the third week of 2019… January 15 – Tuesday We struggled through this day. I realised I was suffering from the January Blues (it’s a thing I get OK?) and I was getting a bunch of anxious, negative thoughts swirling through my head. It wasn’t helped by the fact that the Little Miss was not getting any sleep! The house next door was being worked on by tradies who had a very loud drill that they only used at nap time. Of course! I decided we needed a circuit breaker and we headed to my mum’s…

The Happy List #32
It’s Sunday morning and I am taking some time to breathe. I am not gonna lie. The honeymoon of getting to spend more time with the Little Mister over the holidays has kind of worn off. This mama needs a little sanity back! It’s not at all about him – he’s great most of the time. It’s about me. I think I’ve kind of tried to be SUPER AWESOME MUM and I think I need to take a step back and be REALLY OK MUM WHO ISN’T ABOUT TO LOSE HER SHIT. His dad can be SUPER AWESOME DAD for a bit! I’m really looking forward to our camping trip…

The Happy List #31
It’s been a tough week for a lot of Western Australians. There are a lot of people who have lost a lot over the past few days, with devastating bushfires threatening several small towns in the south west, sadly wiping out the historical town of Yarloop and taking the lives of two elderly community members. I just don’t think I could write this week’s happy list without acknowledging it. While we were always out of the danger zone, it was our neighbouring communities who felt the brunt of the fire front. It was close enough to scare my parents and it affected people and places that we know well. I…

The Happy List #23
Every week I write a list of the things that have made me happy. I usually post it on a Sunday but I didn’t have much time to sit down at my computer (and there was that time where the internet was patchy and then dropped out and I was very not happy)! It’s all good though, because it’s my blog and I can write when I want to so ner haha. I think all in all I have had a pretty productive week, which feels good. Here’s my happy list… Buying a dress in record time. I took a train trip to the city so I could try to tick…

The Happy List #18
While this past week included some disappointments (a long story about a 5km run I have had to pull out of) and some frustrations (a very curious and permanently hangry little ‘scientist’ who has been driving me bonkers with his unauthorised ‘experiments’ around the house – any other parents of almost 4 year olds who are feeling me??) there were definitely some things that brought a smile to my face. Here’s my happy list! Taking the Little Mister to the ‘show’ We took the Little Mister to the (fairly) local agricultural show. It’s not quite the Royal Show, but it’s a smaller version, making it quite kid friendly and easy…

In the summer time, when the weather is fine.
pic It’s finally happened. The weather has changed for the season. It is no longer winter or that frustrating first month of spring where the weather has no idea what it’s doing and no-one knows what to wear or what to do with themselves. It’s that time where I can look at the weather forecast without sighing or groaning, because my “outside of the house” plans have to be changed constantly. Nothing makes me happier than seeing all of those little cartoon like suns staring back at me from my nerdy weather app. So what’s getting me excited? Exercise (and hopefully weight loss). I’ll just say it: I am not…

20SB Blog Swap: Lisa’s Summer Bucket List.
I just love when I get to “meet” new bloggers and I must say I’ve hit it off with Lisa of My Journey to Becoming Helen Mirren’s Biggest Fan. Not only did she take the effort to swap blogs with me for a day (see my post here), but she’s pretty funny and while you would think that anyone who dedicates a whole blog to open letters to Dame Helen Mirren might be a little…off…she seems quite normal – or at least weird in a good way 🙂 Anyway, Lisa is funny and honest and I think I’m going to become a regular reader. That’s the cool thing about the…
