    Taking Stock: November 2019

How’s your 2019 been, babes? I’ve been reflecting on mine and the only thing that comes to mind is WTF most of the time! Nothing about this year has gone how I could have possibly imagined. Some of those things have been good/joyful and some of those things have been painful and utterly confusing – my faith in people has been constantly challenged and then restored and challenged again! Throughout all of this, I have learned a hell of a lot about myself, about life and about the depth of my empathy for others. Growth has been painful but god damn I just keep on getting stronger! I feel like…

    2019: Weekly Wrap Up #6

I’m falling a bit behind on these weekly updates on the mundanity of my life. Oops! I thought about chucking this series in, because I am not really sure if anyone even reads it or finds it remotely interesting, but then I realised I am frickin’ stubborn and a part of me would bug out about not completing a task I’ve set myself! 😝 So here goes… February 5 – Tuesday Today was a pretty damn good day! The Little Miss was settling into the Little Mister’s routine surprisingly well, fitting two day sleeps in during school hours. The Little Mister came home from his 2nd day of school really…

    2019: Week 4

Wow, is January not the longest month of the year? I am not hating it, but it’s so strange how everything slows down at this time of the year! Maybe it’s just because I’m a school mum? Who knows. I wondered when I’d start to wish for school to go back and I am really quite impressed with myself that the feeling only kicked in this week haha. Here’s my wrap up of the 4th week of 2019… January 22 – Tuesday I had started the week feeling really overwhelmed but knowing I had made a commitment to meet my friend Carly and her daughter H kept me going. I…

    2019: Week 1.

Wow, you guys. We did it. We saw in the beginning of another year. I hope the first week has been good to you! I have been excited because I have finally been able to write in my new diary/journal. For a stationery fan (stan?) this is obviously a very big deal and a highlight of a new year! I also love the special pen my son gave me for Christmas – because I’m a ‘writer’. The joy of a good pen! It’s so fancy that you buy ink refills for it and everything! Part of the reason I started the journal was not just for the romance of writing…

Things I’d like to do in 2019.

I know. Nobody’s finished their Christmas day leftovers yet, but I am already excited about all the possibilities that the promise of a new year brings. I know there are a lot of 1st of January grinches out there and I do think your feelings about new year hype are valid – there’s so much pressure to kick goals just because the calendar has ticked over when your life may have other timing. There are probably some statistics that say that nobody ever keeps their resolutions past the 3rd of January (or something haha). It does seem more realistic to begin the new year/new me vibe in February (especially when…

  • Celebrations,  Friday Feels,  just some thoughts,  Little Mister

What I’m looking forward to for the rest of 2018 & what I hope for in 2019.

The other day we were in the car on the way to school drop off and the Little Mister surprised me with a couple of great questions. “What are you looking forward to for the rest of 2018 and what do you hope for in 2019?” I don’t know where this came from. Maybe it’s come up at school or he saw something written down somewhere (he’s getting pretty clever with his reading) or heard something on TV? I don’t know. Either way, I thought it was a great way to reflect. I gave him my short answers because I’m shit at thinking too deeply when I haven’t slept well…
